Some people have told me it's crazy that one works so hard for nothing and that I would have so much more in my life if I didn't spend the majority of my money helping others. To me there's no feeling as though I've been missing out. If anything I consider myself blessed and experiencing and living life to the fullest. My mind and vision has been broadened through my experiences learning languages, cultures and lending a helping hand a long the way. Life is like a box of chocolates and one should be taking a bite out of each one in the box. I have lived among many people in many places and countries and have seen the kindness of a complete stranger welcoming me into their home and treating me as a long lost family member. Cultural barriers have been broken; where there was fear friendship blossomed. Being the only white person people had seen before and unable to speak the same language communication was interesting and complex, yet as simple as a smile. Experiencing living conditions that people only see on TV and cannot imagine and that definitely raised eyebrows back home, I now know what it's like to go without food, water, electricity, a bed, toilets basic things we don't think much about. I have realized the value of a dollar and how much we really have. People who have what we would consider nothing still managed to share with me.
I know I can't change the world on my own but people have said to me "look what you've done and you're just one person". I have decided it is time to create Seeds of Enrichment Organization so I can continue to lend a hand up to people in need. I thank everyone who has supported me and encouraged me to get to this point. Together we will be a driving force of understanding, compassion and love to help people be able to help themselves and in turn help others.
If you think you're too small to be effective you have never been to bed with a mosquito. Now imagine if there is more than one mosquito?
